ROOT FOUNDATIONS
It is your body. It should not be your puzzle to solve alone.
A way to understand what is happening to you — and somewhere to keep asking as you work it out.
Most people arrive here after years of investigations that came back normal. A normal result is information. It is not the end of the road.
What you actually do.
Nine sections, at your own pace. Short videos, and a worksheet each time. You can stop and come back whenever you need to.
01
Put your history in order
Infections, antibiotics, stress, injuries, hormonal change. Most people find the story started earlier than they thought.
02
Rule out the look-alikes first
Thyroid, iron, B12, heart rhythm, sleep apnoea, autoimmune disease. You learn what to ask your own doctor to check.
03
Understand the inflammation loop
Why a response that was right at the time can keep running long after the trigger has gone.
04
Find your own pattern
Which body systems are driving things for you, instead of treating every symptom as separate and unrelated.
05
Start with the gut
Usually first, even when something else shouts louder. You learn the reasoning, so the order makes sense to you.
06
Build a plan you can actually follow
Triggers, energy, sleep, flares. One thing at a time, in an order you can judge — not six changes at once.
Why you should not do this alone.
A course can give you a framework. It cannot answer the question you have at eleven at night in week three, when your own history does not quite fit the example.
That question is not a sign you have misunderstood something. It is what happens when a general framework meets one real life. Everyone gets there.
So Foundations is not a one-off purchase. It comes with the masterclass.
The masterclass is where questions get answered, where new research gets explained in plain terms as it emerges, and where you are working through this alongside other people doing the same thing rather than searching alone at midnight.
It runs as an ongoing membership. That is deliberate: understanding this is not something you finish in a weekend, and the science is still moving.
Being honest with you.
This is not medical advice, and it cannot diagnose you. Your own doctor stays your doctor.
The immune model is a hypothesis. It is published and peer-reviewed, which means it was judged a reasonable contribution — not that it has been proven right.
Nobody here is promising a cure. If you want certainty, no honest person in this field can sell you any.
This does not train you to advise others. That is separate, and it comes later if you want it.
See your doctor first. Ordinary, treatable conditions can look exactly like this.
Who is teaching this.
Dr Philip McMillan is a physician and researcher who has spent years working on why symptoms persist after infection.
Everything in Foundations traces back to that research, written in plain English rather than translated down.
McMillan P, Turner AJ, Uhal BD. The Central Role of Macrophages in Long COVID Pathophysiology. Int. J. Mol. Sci. 2026; 27: 313. doi.org/10.3390/ijms27010313
Start understanding it.
Foundations plus the masterclass. Go at your own pace, and bring your questions.
ROOT Foundations is educational. It does not provide diagnosis or treatment and makes no cure claims. The macrophage-centred model of post-viral illness is presented throughout as a hypothesis rather than settled science. It is not a substitute for advice from your own doctor. © 2026 McMillan Research.
